SHANGRI-LA AT THE FORT:
SOON TO RISE AT THE HEART OF MANILA’S
MOST VIBRANT URBAN COMMUNITY
Set to rise at the heart of Bonifacio Global City (BGC) is Shangri La Hotels and Resorts’ fifth property in the Philippines, Shangri-La at the Fort, Manila, which will open in the fourth quarter of 2015.

Shangri-La at the Fort, Manila, will form part of a mixed-use 25.78-square kilometer lifestyle development in BGC – also known as the Fort – and feature 576 rooms, seven restaurants and bars, and over 6,000 square meters of event space.

The other four components of the project located in one of the tallest towers, at 250 meters high, in the Philippines that will be LEED-gold certified include luxury Shangri-La Residences; a retail podium with stylish shops and restaurants; Kerry Sports Manila, a dedicated recreational club in excess of 8,000 square meters; as well as Horizon Homes, an exclusive collection of highly customized homes situated on the highest floors.

Manila, a dynamic metropolis, is making its mark on the international scene as the fastest-growing economy in Southeast Asia and at the pulse of this teeming metropolis is BGC, a new premier development, which was known as Fort William McKinley between 1902 and 1946.  It was later renamed Fort Bonifacio in 1957 after Andres Bonifacio, known as the “father of Philippine Revolution”.

By 2003 private consortiums began reshaping BGC into a world-class district with multinational and technology firms, schools, residential units and vibrant entertainment options.

Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently owns and/or manages 90 hotels under the Shangri-La brand with a room inventory of over 37,000.  Shangri-La hotels are five-star deluxe properties featuring extensive luxury facilities and services.  Shangri-La hotels are located in Australia, Canada, mainland China, Fiji, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Sultanate of Oman, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

The group has a substantial development pipeline with upcoming projects in mainland China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, India, Myanmar, Philippines, Qatar and Sri Lanka.
