Ocean Park Celebrates Opening of New Attraction Shark Mystique
with Sustainable Marine-themed Culinary Delights







 To celebrate the opening of the new attraction, Shark Mystique, and to confirm its ongoing commitment to marine conservation, Ocean Park will launch a new Summer Promotion Menu featuring a selection of delectable superior seafood selections from sustainable global sources that will be available from June 28 to August 24, 2014.

Offering different seafood selections across all Ocean Park outlets, the new Summer Promotion menu aims to encourage guests to avoid consuming shark fins in order to conserve these majestic marine creatures. 

Guests will be able to expand their culinary experiences by indulging in and enjoying seafood items selected from sustainable sources while showing their own personal commitment to marine conservation at the Park.

During the promotional period, guests can enjoy a delectable Summer Promotion set menu at the Park’s Neptune’s Restaurant and Tuxedos Restaurant (HK$328+10%), where guests can enjoy an unobstructed view of the Grand Aquarium’s main tank and marvel at the spectacle of 5,000 fish from over 400 species and over 70 penguins playfully frolicking in the water and on ice

The refreshing summer menu includes Sustainable Pan-seared Australian Scallops in Sage Brown Butter with Fresh Figs, followed by summer favourite, Gazpacho with Mint, Confit of Cherry Tomato, Granny Smith Apples Summer Fruit Salsa.

Main course selections feature Oven Baked Sea Cucumber with Sustainable Seafood Mousse in Puff Pastry with Lotus Root Salad, Morel and Wild Mushroom Sauce or the refreshing Teriyaki of Silver Cod Ochazuke with Pomegranate and Edamame, Green Horseradish, Marinated Ginger Stick, Crispy Rice Cake and Japanese Steamed Rice Simmered in Green Tea and Pork Gluten Soup.

A choice between Sesame Dumpling Sabayon Tartlet, Mint and Chocolate Ice Cream, Steamed Egg White Custard with Hokkaido 3.6 Fresh Milk and Bird’s Nest or Seasonal Berry Jelly with Rose Croquant and Salted Caramel Ice Cream would bring this exceptional dining experience to a perfect conclusion.

Guests may also choose from the Summer Collection a-la-carte menu featuring Nasi Goreng with sustainable seafood of Lobster, Scallop and Crabmeat Beef Satay Skewers, Sunnyside Egg, Pappadams, Fresh Lime and Mango Salsa (Panda Café/Café Ocean HK$138).

For those with a sweet tooth or desiring a refreshing summer indulgence, dessert selections include Fresh Fruit Crown Waffles with Yogurt and Ice Cream (Neptune’s Restaurant, HK$88), Fresh Mango on a Bed of Sticky Thai Rice with Pandanus flavoured Coconut Cream (Panda Café/Café Ocean/The Terrace Café, HK$68) or Seasonal Berry Jelly with Rose Croquant and Salted Caramel Ice Cream (Neptune’s Restaurant, HK$88).

Guests desiring a sweet treat while at the Park or to take home can select from a scrumptious 1.5 pounds Blueberry Mousse Cake (to be ordered 48 Hours in advance) (Aqua City Bakery, HK$380), Glazed Golden Pineapple Madagascar with Figs, Caramel and Pineapple with Green Peppercorns, Honey, Orange Juice with Light Rum, Crushed Pistachio, Biscuit and Caramel Ice Cream (Tuxedos Restaurant, HK$68), and Shark Mystique Ice-cream Cake (Neptune’s Restaurant, Tuxedos Restaurant, The Bayview Restaurant, Aqua City Bakery and selected food kiosks, HK$58).

Collection of Raspberry Cupcake (Aqua City Bakery, HK$32) is the ideal sweet snack to nibble on while enjoying the Park and all that awaits at Shark Mystique.

“The seafood dishes featured on our summer promotion menu, including lobster, sea cucumbers and scallops, are sourced from the most pristine locations around the world in line with the Park’s ongoing commitment to marine conservation.

To celebrate the opening of Shark Mystique, Ocean Park is also collaborating with Crocs™, footwear sponsor of Summer Shark Fever, to launch the limited edition Jibbitz sets from mid-July onwards, with each set featuring 3 Ocean Park mascot-themed shoe charms (HK$65 per set).

For each purchase of the Ocean Park Jibbitz set limited edition, Crocs™ will donate HK$5 to the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation in support of marine conservation.

Additionally, the Park will feature a range of Shark Mystique merchandise items, including tee shirts, tumblers, water-spray fans and water bottles, shark-shaped sunglasses, umbrellas and many more that also carry the Park’s marine conservation messages.

As Hong Kong People’s Park, Ocean Park has launched different community initiatives to enable Hong Kong people from all walks of life to enjoy the Park’s offerings. These initiatives include: 1) concessionary admission for Hong Kong residents on their birthdays, Hong Kong residents aged 65 years and above, and holders of Registration Card for People with Disabilities; and 2)  sponsored admission to individuals and members of families receiving assistance from the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance Scheme (CSSA), and Social Welfare Department member organizations. 

The Park also gives donation-in-kind to charitable organizations, offers special rates for school tours, and spearheads many other community caring projects. During the fiscal year of 2011-2012, Ocean Park maintained a total of 13 social care programmes, with over 606,000 beneficiaries and an aggregate value to the community equivalent to HK$143.5 million.
