GOLOK FASHIONS

KEE@FSWMAG.COM
GOLOK IS SOMETIMES CALLED KOLOK WHICH SOUNDS RATHER EROTIC BUT ITS REAL NAME IS SU-NGAI KOLOK AS SEEN ON GOVERNMENT SIGNBOARDS SO IT IS ACTUALLY SUNGAI KOLOK.

Can you believe this T-shirt sells in Golok in Thailand?

Rantau Panjang is the border town in Kelantan directly opposite Golok and this t-shirt sells in Golok!

Golok or Kolok is separated by the river Golok or Kolok which is so narrow I can probably wade across. There is a causeway for Immigration and Customs.

Golok is 30 minutes from Kota Baru, my hometown and capital of Kelantan.

Shopping and sex are the 2 main attractions but since I have harped on sex in the previous post, this is dedicated to shopping.

Bangkok offers the best shopping on earth but Golok is great for cheap casual throwaways. The best sellers at this time are the cheongsam-inspired garments and red T-shirts featuring the animal of the year.

Last year every tourist bought a RM 18 t-shirt with majestic dragon but this year the snake motif is not so hot. While the Dragon is realistically portrayed, the Snake is more cartoonish and cute as few want to wear an exact image of a rearing, hooded cobra.
