Emcee Bernie Chan invited Datuk Seri Lim Huah Leong on stage for the welcome speech after everyone had seated.

However, it was a distinctively feminine figure who climbed the steps to the rostrum. It was Lim Ai San, the beautiful daughter of Datuk Seri Lim Huah Leong who was wearing Fleur bra and pantie under her elegant gown. This I know for a fact as she owns Fleur the negligee and lingerie boutique at The Gardens at MidValley! So I will be stunned speechless if Lim Ai San was not wearing Fleur undergarments. I wentt to Fleur boutique for its official opening and am impressed by the sexy negligee.

I think all women should wear Fleur which also offers undergarments and corsets that flatten and tighten your tummy area so the more you use the more svelte you become! She even attributes her stunning new slim figure to Fleur which can make the wearer lose weight---I am off to Fleur tomorrow once I upload this post! A V-shape is what I need and an hourglass figure is what women need!

She explained, "Yes I am not Datuk Seri Lim Huah Leong. I was sent here by my father because he said, 'I am from the School of Hard Knocks' therefore my English is posh enough'. However he promised he will make his speech in 2 years' time when DYMM Tuanku Najihah celebrates her 90th birthday!

"My father insists I must point out though the invitation card states his name and my mother's name, the masterminds and behind tonight's celebration are the grandchildren of Yang Maha Mulia Tuanku Najihah and my father's children.

"We were given 3 weeks to co-ordinate this among ourselves.  Initially we were supposed to organise and perform on stage but we managed to convince our parents those who organised should be exempted from performing!

"I wish to thank the Organising Committee Tunku Jamie, Tunku Myra, Tunku Eddie, my brothers Dato Lim Boo Kian and Dato Lim Boo Keong and of course myself. I also wish to thank all our parents for trusting us and to Tunku Dara Tan Sri Tunku Naquiah for her advice.

"We are gathered here to celebrate the 88th birthday of a wonderful and charming lady, a marvellous woman who cares dearly for her family, friends and subjects and we hope Duli Yang Maha Mulia will have a most memorable evening. Thank you for coming!"

Short, sweet and meaningful!

After the Men in Black finished performing,  Yang Teramant Mulia Tunku Laksamana Tunku Naquiyuddin, the eldest son of Tunku Ampuan Negeri Sembilan went on stage to thank the performers who sang golden oldies.

"This is their best performance in 10 years! Can you believe they were all born after The Beatles?

"Did you know Tuanku Najihah as golfer has scored not once but three holes-in-one? I am 65 and have not had even 1 hole-in-one.

"Tuanku is always very active and I think this is the secret of longevity. As long as you are interested in things and people, you will do well.

"My mother always tries to accept invitations. Even if she is not feeling well on that day, she will still attend once she has agreed to come. I advise her not to go if she does not feel well on the day but she hates letting people down as she knows they had planned the event with her in mind."

Tunku Naquiyuddin was in London for the Summer Olympics and was in Hermes store in Fauborg St Honore buying a birthday gift for his mother when out of the blue they bumped into Datin Seri Wendy and Datuk Seri Lim Huah Leong.

"What a happy coincidence, " recalled Tunku Laksamana Negeri Sembilan. "They too were in London. On the flight  home from London, who should I meet but them again on the same flight! I think it is our destiny we are meant to be together, as it was such a coincidence we should bump into each other in Paris, London and inside the plane."

As Tunku Naquiyuddin is a renowned raconteur and bon vivant, we knew a joke should not be long in the offing. True enough, with a cheeky grin, the prince continued, "During the Olympics, all Malaysians knew Lee Chong Wei battled Lin Dan for the badminton gold medal. Lee Chong Wei's initials is L.C.W which could stand for 'Let China Win'. But he has a title 'Datuk' so his full initials are D.L.C.W which meant 'Don't Let China Win'!

"But alas, the match was held in London with its London Bridge and we all know 'London Bridge is For Lin Dan' (London Bridge is Falling Down)! So Lin Dan won!"

The ballroom erupted into roars of laughter at this very original joke. I wonder if Tunku Naquiyuddin created this which is highly possible as I did not have the chance to nail him later to ask where he got this highly unique joke that is such a brilliant pun on the play of words.

The cake cutting ceremony was truly memorable.

Hosts Datuk Seri Lim Huah Leong and Datin Seri Wendy Lim accompanied the Birthday Queen to the dancefloor where a splendid birthday cake was rolled out. Her Royal Highness's children, grandchildren, in-laws and family members crowded beside her to sing 'Happy Birthday'.

I saw many eyes glistening from tears of joy and gratitude.

But Tunku Ampuan Negeri Sembilan was smiling nonstop and after she placed the sword on the yellow cushion, she was besieged by family members and friends to congratulate her heartily.

It took another 20 minutes before she could reach her seat as so many took the opportunity to shake her hands and sembah her while her dearest and nearest kissed her on the cheek.

What a wonderful gathering of the clan.

What an honour it is for me to be allowed to write the book 'Tuanku Jaafar Tuanku Abdul Rahman; The 10th King of Malaysia' on the late and great Yang DiPertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Jaafar Tuanku Abdul Rahman which was commissioned by Tunku Laksamana Tunku Naquiyuddin to celebrate his birthday.
